The National Disability Conference
The National disability conference is one of The Desert Wheel Race activity that brings together Persons with Disability, stakeholders including CSOs, community leaders and the policy makers at national and county levels.
The aim of the conference is to deliberate on matters of disability and how best it can be mainstreamed in Kenya’s devolved system of governance. To achieve its aim, the conference gives opportunity for different entities to present the current status particularly on policy achievements and challenges for deliberation and recommendations.
The conference deliberations and recommendations are adopted by the policy makers signing yearly memorandum duped ‘Isiolo Declarations’ whose resolutions are implemented by different entities including county and national government departments to mainstream disability into issues of international, national, and regional priorities.
