Introduction
The Desert Wheel Race (DWR) is an annual event that brings together policymakers, leaders, persons with disabilities, and community members to provide an advocacy platform for persons with disabilities in pastoralist/nomadic communities. Persons with disabilities continue to face multiple barriers to exercise their rights, such as voting and accessing public services. The lack of political goodwill to actualize the rights of persons with disabilities is the key issue that needs to be fixed. Advocacy efforts need to be strengthened to promote political participation and representation of persons with disabilities and create a stronger disability rights agenda for the country.
