Project summary
Main objective; to establish the long term and gendered impact of corona virus (COVID-19) on women and girls with disabilities in nomadic and pastoralist communities
Outcomes
- Published and disseminated a baseline survey on the long term impact of COVID 19 on women and girls with disabilities from Kenyan nomadic and pastoralist communities.
- The survey examined the socio-economic effects of Covid-19 on women and girls with disabilities in 12 counties and assessed the coping strategies employed by the women in these regions to deal with the impact of the prevention measure.
- Increased knowledge and generated evidence of the need for increased interventions for women and girls with disabilities from nomadic and pastoralist communities
